Police in Ondo state have arrested seven persons for their alleged involvement in the death of an APC chieftain, Olumide Odimayo aka Idiotic.
The deceased was found dead early Monday in Ese Odo local government area of Ondo state.
Confirming the arrest to Daily Trust correspondent, the state police spokesman, Femi Joseph, said the late Odimayo was allegedly kidnapped last Thursday by unknown gunmen.
According to sources in the state, the deceased was said to have contested for the House of Assembly seat on the platform of the APC in the last election.
We learnt he was whisked away by gunmen last Thursday.
Police sources said his corpse was found yesterday morning near Ogolo river between Sabomi and Igboto area in Ese Odo LGA of the state.
APC spokesman in Ondo state, Omoba Abayomi Adesanya also confirmed the story to us.
