The website claims the Los Angeles City Attorney is now charging Brown with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit. It appears a pet capuchin monkey named Fiji could have the "Questions" performer facing a maximum sentence of six months in jail. He's reportedly due in court on February 6.
Apparently, social media users' concern over a video of Brown's daughter Royalty playing with the monkey led to the CDFW taking a look at the situation. Investigators got a search warrant, but CB agreed to surrender the animal before his home was raided.
Originally reports suggested Brown purchased the monkey as a gift for Royalty. Sources close to the singer insisted he bought the pet for himself and not his three-year-old child.
