He sneaks into the room
Sensing my soft exhale in the darkness.
He edges towards the bed
Finding his way between the sheets.
My subtle scent caresses him
He lingers there, barely moving.
An irresistible aroma
He drools, I am none the wiser.
My sticky skin radiates with night
He inches closer.
My eyes are still shut
He clenches down on me.
And smack!
Die, I say, as I switch on the lamp.
Lift my palm toward my eyes
Smeared black with his corpse
And brown with my blood.
I scan the room before I return to darkness
My eyes still wide open.
